Food Lion #722 and Eckerd - Manchester, TN

Image
Food Lion #722 944 Hillsboro Blvd, Manchester, TN Opened in 1989 as a typical late 1980's/early 1990's Food Lion grocery store. The exterior was repainted into a tan/purple combination when I took these pictures in July 2018. These Food Lion stores have a similar entrance/exit setup to a 1980's model Publix. Due to the use of spotlights in produce, this section feels darker than the rest of the store. Food Lion's from this era were usually about 35,000 square feet in size. Here is aisle 9. Notice the use of dual-sided aisle signage? This is because that one side is used for promotions and advertising, while the other is for the number itself. This store has a total of 6 checkouts (5 regular, 1 express) Thank you for shopping at Food Lion! In the background, you can see an older early to mid-1990's Rite Aid store that closed around 2007 to relocate to the Eckerd building down the street. And here is the Eckerd building, which became a Rite Aid in 2007 and closed in 2

Image
Winn-Dixie #678 9822 US 301, Riverview, FL. - River Bay Plaza This Winn-Dixie opened in 1984 as a pre-Marketplace style building. In 1995, this store was given a major interior and exterior remodel to bring this store into the Marketplace 2.0 layout. This store lost it's pharmacy in November 2016, and store 678 permanently closed in July 2017. Part of this building is currently home to a Planet Fitness, which opened in December 2019. The Winn-Dixie space remains vacant. 6/10/2023 UPDATE: Bravo Supermarkets (a Hispanic oriented grocery store) will soon open in the former Winn-Dixie space after being vacant for 6 years. The next set of photos were taken in September 2017, 2 months after the store closed. This is a typical Marketplace entrance layout, with one or two entrance doors off to the sides, and two exit doors in the center. A store closing notice that was put into effect in May 2017. Store 2475 (6929 US 301) is 2 miles to the north at the Lake St. Charles Plaza. Store 676 (1

Walgreens #9297 - Riverview, FL

Image
Walgreens #9297 10427 Big Bend Rd, Riverview, FL This Walgreens drugstore opened in 2010 and features the older logo outside. 9297 is an identifier number from 2005/2006, so this Walgreens was either delayed due to construction, or nearby residents. Here is what I mean by the old logo, which features a bold font with the Walgreens script. A newer logo was introduced in 2011 and the opacity is reduced to regular/medium text. Some photos are a mix of ones taken at store 9475 (above) and store 9297 (the remaining ones) The layout here is a reverse of store 9475 in Riverview, with cosmetics being the first department after you walk in the store. Aisles 2 and 3 are home to stationery products. Walgreens' photo department. Health and wellness products are located after cosmetics. Walgreens uses a split aisle formation, with aisles 1 to 12 on the right, and 13 to 24 to the left. Walgreens, happy and healthy since 1901! This will conclude our inside look of Walgreens #9297. Kash n' Karry #1761/Sweetbay Supermarket #1761/Winn-Dixie #2444 1023 S. Tamiami Trail, Ruskin, FL Opened in 1974 as Kash n' Karry #1761, and was converted to Sweetbay Supermarket in 2005. Southeastern Grocers later sold the Sweetbay stores to Winn-Dixie's, and converted this store in April 2014. Welcome to Winn-Dixie #2444! This store when it was a Sweetbay had their Hannaford-style interior from 2005 until 2014 and was later reused by Winn-Dixie for the next 3 years until this store was remodeled into Down Down in 2017. Aisle 1, along with the produce department. Aisle 8, which is home to condiments, spices, and oils. The store's pharmacy is located after you enter through the left side. The letters are small due to this store having a drop ceiling. Aisle 13 has beer/wine and frozen food products. Aisles 1 to 12 are to the right, and dairy is to the left. Thank you for shopping at Winn-Dixie #2444! Copyright 2020 by GTB Retail.

Countryside Mall 27001 US Highway 19 N, Clearwater, FL Opened on September 8, 1975 and consisted of two department store anchors: Maas Brothers and Sears. Robinson's and JCPenney opened 1 year later. These signs must have been added after the 2009 remodels. Dillard's was originally Robinson's of Florida from 1976 until 1987, and later became Maison Blanche (White House) from 1987 until 1991.
