Interstate 275: Exit 44, Downtown Tampa (North)
INTERSTATE 275 NORTHBOUND (EXIT 44):
The first mileage sign that shows Downtown Tampa is at mile marker 39 or 40. Exits for Armenia Ave/Howard Ave (Exit 42) and I-4 East (Exit 45B) are shown here.
Downtown Tampa (Exit 44) is in 1.5 miles from this sign. Interstate 4 (Exit 45B) is in 2.5 miles. In recent news, the Florida DOT wants to create 12 lanes on each side of I-4 to fix "Malfunction Junction". That is a total of 24 lanes of traffic.
Exit 44 is in 1 mile, and Exit 45B for I-4 East is in 2 miles.
Exit Only signs appear here. For Downtown East, use the second from the right lane. For Downtown West, use the far right lane (Exit Only lane).
This is the final opportunity for exit 44 towards Downtown Tampa.
Reconstructed in 2016 is the ramps to Ashley Dr, Tampa St, and Scott St.
The original exit ramps for Ashley Dr and Tampa St appear here.
A pedestrian crossing, with an RRFB (Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon) signal. This is the point where drivers have to yield to Tampa St traffic.
A traffic light located at the Tampa St/Tyler St intersection. After this traffic light, you will be on Tampa St.
This is my view everyday to and from work but with bumper to bumper traffic!
